The autobiographical essay recounts numerous personal experiences and comments at length on political and economic challenges facing the country. It it also offers a brief record of the research that led to The Invention of Argentina and the response to the book in Argentina.. The second lengthy essay explores how ideas of liberalism have been used and misused in Argentina.
